Listeners will hear a first-hand account of what it’s like to be a kid dealing with anxiety and how we, as parents, can help them.

THE LITTLE THINGS

We like to start each episode by talking about the little things in life that make a big impact.

Kara-Kae declared her love for the crockpot. Whether you are a working woman, a wife, or a mom, everyone needs to discover the magic of the crockpot, especially during this chilly/chili, fall season.

Elizabeth shared about some cards from Target. They come in a jar and on the outside of the jar it says, “Today I Will . . .” Inside the jar are prompts for random acts of kindness. These are great conversation starters at the dinner table and ways to encourage your kids to show kindness to others.

THE CONVERSATION

Kara-Kae and Elizabeth start by explaining types of anxiety, the science behind anxiety, and the difference between stress and anxiety in kids. They also discuss symptoms children with anxiety might experience and causes of anxiety.

Both women share their experience of raising children with anxiety, and they talk about how God has used this to sanctify them and make them more empathetic. They also offer ways parents can help their children who are dealing with anxiety.

Finally, Kara-Kae’s daughter, Zoey, shares her perspective of growing up with anxiety. Her vulnerability is so inspiring and parents will find her story encouraging and helpful.
