What do Beyonce, women’s soccer, congress, and Beth Moore have in common? You’ll have to listen to find out! What a year it’s been for women, the Church and culture! As we enter 2020, Kara-Kae and Elizabeth reflect on the people and events that impacted them the most in 2019.
THE LITTLE THINGS
We like to start each episode by talking about “the little things” in life that made a big impact that week. This week we talked about little things that impacted us in 2019.
Kara-Kae talked about releasing her first book, Mom Up, plus she released three Bible studies in 2019. Check them out here!
She also talked about the cruise that she and her husband went on in December. Stop bragging Kara-Kae! :)
Elizabeth reflected on the Christian women’s writers conference she launched last spring called Collab Conference. She is hosting it again in Waco, Texas, April 22-24. Registrations are open and she would love to have you there!
Her other little thing is the broadway show, Hamilton. She’s seen it twice and already has tickets to see it again in Houston in the summer of 2020.
THE CONVERSATION
Kara-Kae and Elizabeth started out by talking about events that impacted WOMEN in 2019.
Elizabeth mentioned that U.S. Women’s Soccer team. They won their second consecutive world cup, and yet they earn much less than the U.S. Men’s Soccer team. The women’s team is now in a lawsuit to gain a higher wage.
Kara-Kae said 2019 brought the most diverse class of lawmakers sworn into Congress, and this also included the most women ever sworn in.
She also talked about Beyonce’s documentary, Homecoming.

Kara-Kae and Elizabeth then moved on to talking about events that helped shape CULTURE.

Kara-Kae talked about the California Crown Act which bans workplace discrimination of natural hair.
