Can I just say God is good? He really does take care of us.

Ok, the story. It was time to start looking at cribs, but I didn’t want to have to buy something brand new.  I wanted a nice crib for Baby Girl, but wasn’t worried about having the top of the line, brand spankin’ new, most expensive thing out there. So I figured I’d look on Craigslist for a good deal. I had picked out a crib that I wanted, did the research on it and decided to try to find it used to save us some money.

Just a few days later, I found the exact crib on Craigslist!!! The seller claimed that her child had barely slept in it, and it was practically brand new. AWESOME.  She was selling the crib and changing table for a good price, so I figured I better jump on it.

So, we go look at it.  It looks a little different to me than the pictures of it did, but it wasn’t put together and I figured that was why and thought no big deal.  It obviously had been slept in more than a “couple of times” like she claimed, because it was pretty banged up, but we figured we could just touch it up and all would be fine. 

We pay, we leave.  When we get home, I decided to start looking through the parts and everything she sent with it. Ummmmmmmmmm…..it’s NOT the brand or the crib she told us it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!?! I about had a heart attack.  I immediately e-mailed her, laying it all out and asking for our money back. Nope, she wouldn’t budge. 

Maybe I’m too trustworthy? Maybe I think all people should be honest?

Then I go into convincing myself I’m a terrible mom because I got a bad crib for our daughter and wasted all this money on something we couldn’t even use.

Yes, it was recalled because it was unsafe. Terrific.

<—- Seriously?? No thank you.

Well….after I calmed myself, I found out that because the crib was recalled they are giving vouchers to people to get a brand new crib. 

Yesterday I received our voucher to get a BRAND NEW crib for even more than we paid for both the changing table & crib. 

Tonight, I’m going to pick out a really nice, brand new crib for Baby Girl! Thank you Lord for taking care of us! What a blessing this turned out to be.

Maybe I’m not such a bad mom after all? I’m just done buying things for my daughter on craigslist!

I’m slightly obsessed with Christmas. Seriously. I can’t get enough. It’s November 3rd and I think I’ve waited long enough before getting out the Christmas Music.

Nope, I’m not ashamed! Not one tiny bit. I was in 7th grade when this album came out, and I’ve listened to it every single year since!

3 years ago today I gave it up.

COLD. TURKEY.

That was not an easy task for me. I drank a lot of diet coke in college.  I mean…A LOT. If you are familiar with “The Barn”, I frequented this place. Many times a few times a day. Me & my girlfriends kept this place in business. I got a text from my friend Tara yesterday saying she was at The Barn getting a diet coke. Made me a little jealous and realize how long it’s been since I’ve had that deliciousness touch my lips. (Tara, I partially blame you for my addiction too!!)

I can’t believe I’ve made it this long! If you know how bad my obsession was, you’d understand how big of a feat this is!

Hubby & I decided to enjoy a nice relaxing last Halloween before our little one enters the world. We have many years ahead of us of costumes and way too much candy! Luckily it’s Saturday evening and we are curled up on the couch enjoying some college football!

I’m really excited to dress up our little girl next year and get candy!! She won’t be old enough to be able to eat the candy so mommy & daddy will get to eat it all!! WOOOOO!!! I hope everyone had a great Halloween!

I must admit it. I’m OBSESSED with Jim & Pam. 

They are one of my all time favorite “fictional” couples.  Fictional? Ha. More like real. I love them for so many reasons. They are hilarious. They have a blast together. And most importantly…they remind me of MY real life relationship.

Brook and I got hooked on The Office together about two and a half years ago. We were just ‘friends’ (a term I use loosely for us at the time…), and worked together in the same office.  We were the Jim & Pam of our office. They were just friends, we were just friends. But deep down there was sooooooo much more…and everyone knew it but us! It was one night while watching The Office and hanging out that my now hubby laid that first kiss on me, just as Jim did to Pam one random night after work!

Brook & I went on to get engaged. So did Jim & Pam. (It’s hard to tell which one I was more excited about…)

Brook & I went on to get married.  Well…Jim & Pam are still working on that part.

Brook & I are having a baby. SO ARE JIM & PAM!!!!!!!

I was so excited at the end of last season when we found out they were having a baby.  Yes, I wish they had waited until after the wedding…but it’s tv. Yeah, you would have thought my two best friends in the whole world were having a baby.

Don’t tell Brook, but this is the real reason I wanted to have a baby. Gotta keep up with my favorite couple. And who wouldn’t wanna be preggo buddies with PAM!?!?!

I was a senior in high school. Driving to a college class I was taking when I heard it announced on the radio.  I saw the second plane hit on a tv on campus.  I will never forget that day and all the lives that were lost.

I’m thankful for our freedom today.

I have twice visited ground zero, and it was amazing to see the names written on the wall. To see the remains.

To see the cross. All that was left was a cross, with a bit of airplane wrapped around it.

A reminder of all our Savior has already given up for us, and that He is still in control.  We have eternal freedom in HIM alone.

This week has been a busy crazy one…and I’ve been s-i-c-k. But today my spirits were lifted a bit by my good friend Wendy.  I know her spirits were VERY down after this, but I couldn’t help but get a good laugh out of it.

Wendy, you’re one of the greatest moms I have the privilege of knowing and learning from.  It’s a thrill to go through this pregnancy with you (we’re only a week apart!!), and I can’t wait for our babies to be either best friends or get married Keep your head up friend… You’re an amazing mommy!

Oh the joys of motherhood I have to look forward to!! And I’m still excited…

Labor Day Weekend is supposed to be a fun filled weekend and no work. Filled with lots of bbq, grilling, boats, beach and sunshine.  

Well…this is where I spent a lot of my time over the weekend:

Yup. Sick as a dog. And my poor puppy just followed me around all weekend… I think he’s worried about his mom. What a cutie.

I only had to come in for a few hours today, but still had to get myself out of bed early and that’s half the battle. And WOW…I’m so glad my desk doesn’t look like that.  Quite the opposite actually.

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!!!!!!!! I hope everyone had a better weekend than I did!

Yup…that’s right.  Today I turn the big 2-5.  I love birthdays.  It’s fun to get to celebrate your entrance into the world.  The years really do fly by! I thought we would take a look back on where it all began 25 years ago today.

Glad my looks have changed a bit in the past 25 years and SO glad I finally got hair…
