Mom's Night Out: Movie Recap

This is my story. I don't know how many times I've believed the lie "I'm a failure, I'm not good enough". I can't believe a movie affirmed ME and told MY story. My wild and crazy life with three toddlers. My house that is ALWAYS a disaster area. How I'm typically a hot mess and never look put together.

I was choking on my popcorn I was laughing so hard. This movie is RAW and REAL. I was a little creeped out feeling like they must have had secret cameras placed in my home somehow because no other house is as crazy as mine, right? Wrong. We all are surrounded by this beautiful, crazy chaos each and every day. "Masterpieces" in finger-paints on the walls, salmonella literally dripping from the countertops and tiny toddlers using the toilet as their personal bathing pool.

It's about resisting to believe that lie that you're not good enough. It's about knowing what an important job motherhood is. It's ok to be a mess, a beautiful mess.  When you are deeply rooted in Christ, you are a new creation. You no longer carry the titles of failure and not-enough.

Gather your girlfriends, and get to this film. You will laugh, cry and be SO encouraged!

At the end of the film, Allison gives this message:

"I am a mess. But I'm a beautiful mess. I'm His masterpiece and that's enough"

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Breakfast Shakes from Quaker {sponsored post}

I'm a very busy mom, that's no secret. One of my biggest struggles as a mom is taking care of MYSELF. And eating tops the list. Some days it will be 7:00pm and I'll realize the only thing I've had to eat that day is the leftover, dry sandwich my girls left on the table at lunch. It can be so hard to remember to feed yourself when you have lots of little mouths to feed! I was thrilled to hear about these new Breakfast Shakes from Quaker. I've tried some meal replacement shakes before, but they typically hurt my stomach or leave a chalky taste in my mouth. I love the consistency and taste of these Quaker Shakes! I have found them to be a great breakfast option that I can grab quickly when we are on the go or just playing at home and I don't have a chance to stop to eat!

Grab a pack of these shakes next time you're at the grocery store and try them out! They are delicious and will make your morning routine so much easier. You will love them!

Enjoy this $2 coupon to try Quaker Breakfast Shakes!!

some frozen fun!

header_01 Having a house full of girls, we are busting at the seams with Princess love. We twirl, we sing, we fluff, it's so incredibly cute. I just can't get enough of Frozen (ok, well maybe sometimes hearing the songs for the 40 billionth time gets to be a bit much...), and I think it's because of the theme of sisterhood. I just love that it teaches my girls that they can be different but still love each other for their uniqueness.

I had to share these fun activity sheets with you guys! Remember, the DVD comes out TODAY so print out these sheets and have a Frozen party with your kids! They will love it!

a secret I can't keep during cold season!

This cold and flu season has been a beating on our house. It's been one thing after another throughout the winter and since this has been the endless winter, it's dragging out even longer. The coughing, the runny noses, it feels like it's never going to stop. The kids faces just get raw from so much nose wiping. Makenzi has been teething like crazy and she's just been miserable. I had to share this best kept secret with you! My friends at Dr. Browns sent over these new wipes of theirs for us to try out and I just love them! We have used the nose and face wipes the most this winter, but I love the paci wipes to help fight off germs and the tooth and gum wipes to keep their mouths clean! Since Mak is still so little, everything goes in the mouth and this time of year, everything is covered in germs. Although, I'm kind of a germ-loving mom, I still have to draw the line somewhere. After MONTHS of sickness and fighting the colds, I'm loving what these wipes offer!

Mama's guide to cold season survival:

- Get outside! Easier said than done when you have a super cold winter, but it really helps!

- Wash those hands! Keep some hand sanitizer with you and encourage your kids to wash their hands.

- Keep your stress level down! You are more prone to illness when your body is already under stress, so take vitamins, diffuse some oils, do whatever you can to keep your home at a calm state.

- Encourage your kids to take their vitamins and have a healthy diet! I've been pumping mine full of daily vitamins and anything too add a little extra vitamin D during these yucky months.

- Go easy on those little noses. When it's cold and they have runny noses, they can get raw from the wiping. Use a gentle wipe made specifically for runny noses!

- Hang in there! Spring will be here soon!!!
