an outpouring

If you've been on the internet at all this week, you've probably seen the tragic news about Jacqui and Dan from Baby Boy Bakery losing their precious baby boy Ryan. It's just one of those this-can't-be-real type of situations. It has to be a bad dream. No parents should EVER have to face something like this. When we started Thrive a little less than a year ago, this was our goal. To support families in their darkest hour. The hurting moms. The parents who have lost everything. The mom battling with depression and feeling like she can't go on. In the most difficult of times, moms need someone to come in and carry the burdens. To help lift the weight of what they are carrying.

We had a newspaper contact us to interview us about why we chose to bless this family. It made me giddy to tell her that it's not about this family. It's about every hurting parent out there. It's about spreading the name of Jesus to the hurting and the lost.  We do this for the mama who's child has never had a picture posted on social media and we do this for the stories that go viral.

And I hope each one of you would do the same.

You didn't see Jesus helping the popular people to spread his name. He did his healing in private, in quiet. He even told people not to tell anyone after he healed them. And he told them to not let their left hand see what their right hand was doing when they gave to the needy.

As moms, our hearts are so broken. We can't imagine how something like this could happen. We just fall to our knees and continue to cry out to God until the day we see his face.

We've had an outpouring of donations, prayers and help for this precious family. A huge blessing for sure. And so many people have stepped out in one way or another to help. I hope this opens our eyes to how many hurting families there are out there and all of the ways we can support and encourage them.

If you would like to donate to Jacqui and Dan, you can do so at thrivemoms.com/blog. There's a donation button on the sidebar of the blog.

I'm back and a Retreat recap!

This past month has been a whirlwind. A wonderful, beautiful whirlwind. I had to take a break from some things and blogging had to take a backseat. I have my head filled with words to write and things I want to share about all that is going on! Goodness, I miss this outlet of sharing my life and my heart.

This past weekend we had the Thrive Moms Retreat. A dream I've had for a very long time became a reality as thousands of women gathered to be encouraged and inspired to seek Christ as their hiding place. The teaching was AMAZING and I have probably watched each session about 10 times, but I still want to watch it more and more and soak in every bit of wisdom. It was an absolute honor and joy of mine to host this event with my dear friend Nathalie. To watch  moms to step out of "survival mode" and truly believe see how precious and wonderful this calling of motherhood is!

If you missed the Retreat, you can see the recording here. We are also doing a 10 Day Devotional study together that I would love for you to join in! You can find the devo on you YouVersion Bible App by searching "hiding place" in the plans, or find it here on your computer.

Saturday I felt like I birthed my 4th child after Retreat was over. I was exhausted and on such a high. It was so nice to be done and go to the park with my girls and just enjoy not thinking about anything else!

I have a jam packed schedule these days with Thrive, my shop, Influence Conference planning and my blog. It's all become practically a full time job, and I've loved becoming a "work at home mom". It takes a lot of work to figure out how that balance works, but it's given me so much joy to pour into these different avenues of things I absolutely love!

Hopefully you’ll be hearing from me a lot more here on the blog now that Retreat is over!

PS. I’m having an IG card sale today for the final Mother’s Day cards at 1pm CST! Go snag a card for your mom if you haven’t already!

Thrive RETREAT!

I have been holding in this super exciting announcement for months now and I am bursting to share it with you!!!! When Nathalie and I launched Thrive a little less than a year ago, we had SO many big dreams. We had dreams of bringing moms together for an amazing time of refreshment and encouragement, a retreat filled with lots of Jesus, lots of encouragement and LOTS of "you've got this" high fives. The hard part? Moms are BUSY. Like really busy. And getting away from the family can be tough. Although we are an online ministry and have a lot of bloggers, we wanted to reach more than the blogging community. We want to reach the full time working mom who can't take off for an entire weekend. We want to reach the stay at home mom clipping coupons and scraping to get by. We want to reach the super successful small business owner. We want to reach every type of mom out there.

The idea of an online retreat came to us. A chance to stay in your pjs, curl up on a Saturday morning with a cup of coffee and get away with moms all across the world. We will bring you encouragement, laughter, worship, creativity and inspiration. You will be able to interact live and chat with other moms during the event! We have a few surprises up our sleeves. We want to flood your heart with refreshment to seek Christ as your Hiding Place.

Mark your calendars for May 3rd. It's going to be amazing and I can't wait to "see" each one of you there!

Thrive LinkUp: Christmas Traditions

linkup

Head over to the thrive blog to link up your traditions blog posts or instagram posts!!

I'm a complete and total sucker for Christmas. I love traditions, celebrations and the excuse to eat anything sweet. I believe life is a constant celebration, and December just amplifies that so much. I can't get enough!! Being a mom is so much fun during the holidays! Getting to teach my little people about Christmas and what it means, it's just such a blast! To see the excitement in their eyes for each little celebration, it sparks the miracle of Christmas in my heart all over again!

One of my favorite Christmas traditions that we do as a family is decorating cookies! We do a LOT of traditions because I'm a sentimental sap, but this one definitely ranks way up on my list of favorites!
