Let's be real, shall we? I'm not very good at taking care of myself, not very good at all. I see all of these moms making fancy meals and doing 2 hour workouts every day and it just makes me feel like a failure. I've never been a big into fitness and I really, really like food. So, after having several kids super close together, I find myself eating their table scraps and calling it lunch. My method of a workout is taking all of the kids on a trip to the grocery store. Being a mom is hard enough work, then add in the guilt that comes with taking care of ME too.
I could feel the toll it was all taking on my body though, and I knew I needed to make a change. There were days that the only drink I would have was my morning cup of coffee. And most days it took me about 5 hours and 10 re-heats before getting that in me. I would go days without taking a drink of water. This struck an idea. How many other moms out there were struggling the same way I was?
Nat and I got to talking and decided this was a great challenge to do with the Thrive Moms Community. To let moms know there are simple steps that can be taken to take care of yourself, and you don't have to be a health nut or a fitness freak to focus on your health a little!
Based on the scripture in 3 John 1:2 "Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit", we are launching the "Healthy Body, Strong Spirit" challenge. We are going to be encouraging moms in 4 ways to take care of themselves: with water intake, holy yoga, a simple healthy diet and spiritual strength. We believe you can take simple steps to become a healthier mom and a healthy body has a direct relation with your spiritual strength.

I'm excited to see moms join together to encourage each other!
