embracing seasons

There's something so beautiful about the changing of the seasons. Do you notice that we long for a new season and then tire of it so quickly? It's just our human nature to be this way. We can't WAIT for summer but after about 6 weeks of 100+ degree temps, we are begging for fall. It's a vicious, never-ending circle. What if we were to really love each season for what it brought us? If we didn't tire of them and anxiously await what is ahead? What if we loved where we were, and fully embraced it until the day a new season came? Could you imagine how much more content and joyful we would be with our lives?

My season of motherhood is difficult right now. It's exhausting, beautiful and sometimes frustrating. It's hard raising multiple little ones. I crave for something different in certain areas of our life. It doesn't always look the way I thought it would.

hello fall

Wishing for someone else's spring will do nothing but make your winter even colder and darker.ย

I do want to encourage you to embrace the season you are in, but this is mostly a "preaching to the choir" type of post. This is the hardest struggle for me in my journey to be more intentional. Contentment is not a word I like, and it's not something that comes easily to me. It's a daily battle, and typically one I lose.

Are you losing this battle, or striving to embrace each and every season as you are in them?ย
