make the choice (to be intentional)

I do the "choice" parenting with my kids. Instead of always telling them what to do, I give them choices. "You can either obey and get to do something fun, or you can go straight to bed", I think I say that one about 7 nights a week. I use choices in meals, behavior, toys and activities. It makes them feel so "grown up" to make their own decisions and it sparks a sense of independence. Well, you and I ARE grown ups. We can make our own choices. If you are here reading my blog, you made the choice to do so. You clicked here from social media or from following me somewhere. You choose who to read, who to be friends with, where do shop, and on and on! Because God gave us free will, we get to make our own choices.

I choose to live intentionally. To not sit back and watch my life be lived out through routines and schedules. I will not be defined by a clock or what society tells me to do.

If we are going to be fully intentional beings, we need to make the choice to step away from over scheduling. I see so many people busying themselves so much that they can't be intentional about the important areas of their lives. This is heartbreaking!

When it comes to the end of your day, the end of your life, will you be glad that you followed a strict schedule or that you were intentional about the ones you love?
