six months old

I have been writing monthly letters to my daughter to put in her first year book, and I hadn't shared any of those yet with my you. But since we are 6 months old today, I thought it would be fun to share her 6 month pictures and the letter for her book. Warning -- the cuteness of the kid pictured below may be too overwhelming for your eyes and just might burn your retinas. It's just almost too much to handle. But don't say I didn't warn you. {And, click on any picture to view it in it's full-sized yummy-ness} You're welcome.

My Sweet Girl  -

You are 6 months old! Wow, the time has flown and it makes me a little sad that we are already halfway to your first birthday. I absolutely love this stage we are in, and wish I could freeze time and stay here a bit longer with you. That just wouldn't suit you though, you are ready to go. You want to be big. You try to prove to me everyday that you are a big, independent girl while I try to keep you my tiny baby.

It's an absolute joy and honor to be your mom.

I know that I am a better person because of you and how you have changed me.  I look at the world differently, and I appreciate life as the precious gift that it is.  I hold you close to me to feel your heart beating and praise God that he built you perfectly, in His image and for me.

It makes my heart melt as you reach for me now because you want to be in your mama's arms. The place you feel safe, your whole world.  You teach me about trust and faith.  I am so thankful for the ways I learn from you, and how I love more deeply and passionately because of what you are to me.

You are hilarious.  The spunky personality you have brings so much laughter and joy to our home.  You are learning to crawl, but have figured out you can scoot all over the house. Everything is an exciting adventure for you, and you love being semi-mobile.

I hope you always keep that adventurous spirit. You little strong willed one, I pray that you stay just the way you are. That you focus that passion into good, because you can take on the world.

I'm so excited about what the month ahead hold for us. I know you are going to change so much, and I'm bracing myself for the wild ride you are about to take us on.

I love you, baby girl. Happy 1/2 Birthday!
