Can I just say God is good? He really does take care of us.
Ok, the story. It was time to start looking at cribs, but I didn’t want to have to buy something brand new. I wanted a nice crib for Baby Girl, but wasn’t worried about having the top of the line, brand spankin’ new, most expensive thing out there. So I figured I’d look on Craigslist for a good deal. I had picked out a crib that I wanted, did the research on it and decided to try to find it used to save us some money.
Just a few days later, I found the exact crib on Craigslist!!! The seller claimed that her child had barely slept in it, and it was practically brand new. AWESOME. She was selling the crib and changing table for a good price, so I figured I better jump on it.
So, we go look at it. It looks a little different to me than the pictures of it did, but it wasn’t put together and I figured that was why and thought no big deal. It obviously had been slept in more than a “couple of times” like she claimed, because it was pretty banged up, but we figured we could just touch it up and all would be fine.
We pay, we leave. When we get home, I decided to start looking through the parts and everything she sent with it. Ummmmmmmmmm…..it’s NOT the brand or the crib she told us it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!?! I about had a heart attack. I immediately e-mailed her, laying it all out and asking for our money back. Nope, she wouldn’t budge.
Maybe I’m too trustworthy? Maybe I think all people should be honest?
Then I go into convincing myself I’m a terrible mom because I got a bad crib for our daughter and wasted all this money on something we couldn’t even use.
Yes, it was recalled because it was unsafe. Terrific.
<—- Seriously?? No thank you.
Well….after I calmed myself, I found out that because the crib was recalled they are giving vouchers to people to get a brand new crib.
Yesterday I received our voucher to get a BRAND NEW crib for even more than we paid for both the changing table & crib.
Tonight, I’m going to pick out a really nice, brand new crib for Baby Girl! Thank you Lord for taking care of us! What a blessing this turned out to be.
Maybe I’m not such a bad mom after all? I’m just done buying things for my daughter on craigslist!

Hi! I had to check you out after your awesome comment on Natalie Witcher’s blog. I noticed you are located in Orange County! Me too! My hubby is the Young Adults Pastor at Knott Avenue Christian Church in Anaheim. Awesome. I think you are adorable.

Oh I am so very relieved. Can you email the brand/color etc so I can go out and look? yeah. What fabric did you settle on for the bedding?

Oh my goodness!! I can not believe some people!! Im glad that you are getting a brand new crib though!! That is awesome!

Personally I would email the lady back and thank her for the brand new crib you will pick out tonight! Just so she knows. But that’s just me.
